Today, you are not just packing lunch. You are designing a better way to eat, stay healthy, and care for others.

Make it fun. Make it functional. Make it YOU.

 

You can sketch it, build it from cardboard, use LEGO, craft it with recycled materials. ANYTHING goes!
 
Your lunchbox can be wild, weird, smart, or simple.

As a Design Thinker
 

Ask yourself these questions before you begin:

 

1. Empathize

  • Who is this lunchbox for?

  • What do they like to eat? What do they need to eat?

2. Define the Problem

  • What problems do lunchboxes usually have?

  • Does food get cold? Do things spill?

3. Ideate

  • What features could your new lunchbox have?

  • A soup container that stays hot?

  • Compartments for veggies and fruit?

  • A built-in message from Mom?

4. Prototype

  • What can you use to build or draw your design?

  • Can you label the parts and explain how it works?

5. Test (at home!)

  • Pack a pretend lunch and see what happens.

  • What could you improve?
